Galactopticon: The Quest for the Argemitis Galacticus is a science fiction mod for Half-Life 2 set in the distant future. Humanity has unlocked the secrets of space travel and stumbled blearily into a massive intergalactic community spanning hundreds of star systems.

Unsurprisingly, the Earthlings rapidly picked up the ins and outs of the new world--interstellar trade, tourism, cultural diffusion, colonization, as well as those less savory pursuits; humans showed as great an aptitude as any for drug trafficking, the prostitutory arts, and space piracy.

Galactopticon stars a crew of unsavory characters contracted to retrieve a priceless alien artifact from some God-forsaken hellhole at the wrong end of the galaxy. Some of them are on the level. Some are not all that they seem. Some are even human.
